- 1 cup unbleached all purpose flour
- ¾ cup whole wheat flour
- ⅓ cup organic or raw sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice mix
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup canola oil
- 4 chopped apples (makes 1½ -2 cup)
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
