Servings 48, Cook+Prep Time: 1 hr 35 min

Ingredients:

Meatballs:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • ½ pound ground veal
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 2½ teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 2 tablespoon butter
Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon beef paste
  • 1½ tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon all spice
  • salt and fresh ground pepper

Tips: You could Add (sour)cream for extra indulgence. If you like to spice it up a bit, trow in some chillies for extra flavour. If you have no dill, fresh thyme also works really well. This goes well with pasta. For a typical winter meal yo could serve it with mash, winter greems and cranberry sauce.
