Warm Autumn Apple Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients: 


Apple Dumplings:
  • 6 apples cut up and peeled
  • Whipped cream for serving
Pastry:
  • 2 Cups (250g) flour
  • 2 teaspoon (10g) baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon   (2.5g – a big pinch) salt
  • 6 Tablespoons (85g) butter + extra for the filling
  • ¾ Cup (180ml) milk
Sauce:
  • 2 Cup (400g) white sugar
  • ½ Cup (110g) brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons (15g) flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 Cup (470ml) boiling water
  • ½ Cup (114g – one stick) butter
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla

Tip: Use ready-made pie dough for the Pastry, quicker and taste just as good.
You could also put 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon by the apples.
For garnish you could also use 2 tablespoons chopped pecans, toasted.
This recipe goes great with some vanilla ice cream.
